Mulch Matters: Choosing the Best for Your Landscape

At Martin’s Nursery, we offer a variety of mulch options to enhance and protect your landscape. Some of our most popular choices include Grade A Cedar, Pine Straw Bales, Bark Brite and Grade A Cypress mulch.

Grade A Cypress Mulch – Available Now!

While we had previously stopped carrying Grade A Cypress due to rising costs, sustainability concerns, and supply issues, we currently have it back in stock! If you’ve been looking for Grade A Cypress, now is the time to grab it while supplies last.

Why We Recommend Grade A Cedar Instead

Though Cypress is available, we also offer Grade A Cedar as a fantastic alternative. Cedar mulch provides:

Superior color and texture – as seen in the comparison photos below.

Sustainability – sourced from well-managed forests.

Durability – naturally resistant to decay and pests.

Western Red Cedar, in particular, is one of the most renewable and biodegradable wood types, making it an excellent eco-friendly choice.

Bark Brite Mulch – Our Most Affordable Choice!

Looking for a budget-friendly mulch option? Bark Brite Mulch is our cheapest choice and comes in three great colors to match any landscape:

Brown

Red

Black

Bark Brite is a cost-effective way to add color, texture, and moisture retention to your garden while keeping weeds at bay.

Pine Straw Bales: Affordable & Eco-Friendly

We also offer high-quality Pine Straw Bales in three varieties:

Natural (Regular)

Red Dyed (colored)

Long Leaf Pine Straw

Pine straw is an exceptionally clean and uniform mulch option, making it our most economical and eco-friendly choice. A single bale can cover 65 sq. ft., which is equivalent to using 5.5 bags of Grade A Cedar (3 cu. ft.).

Not sure which mulch is best for your needs? Stop by Martin’s Nursery or give us a call—we’re happy to help!
